DM to prepare for tablet-smartphone distribution
Lucknow (SNB). In a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari, the preparations for distribution of tablets and smartphones were reviewed for technical empowerment of the youth studying in the state. The Chief Secretary directed the District Magistrates to complete the arrangement of mobile and tablet distribution.
Tiwari told the district magistrates through video conferencing to make complete preparations for the distribution of tablets / smart phones in advance, so that the distribution programs can be done systematically. He said that all the proceedings related to distribution of tablets/smartphones would be done through Digishakti portal only. The mapping of tablets/smartphones to be distributed to the students in the districts will be done by the nodal officer of the concerned university, institute or college through the mobile app. He said that user IDs and passwords of nodal officers of all 75 districts have been generated on Digishakti portal. He said that the District Nodal Officer for the delivery/storage of tablets/smartphones in the districts.
The sites will be selected by the officials, the information of which will have to be uploaded on the Digishakti portal. Earlier, while conducting and presenting the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Industrial Development Arvind Kumar said that Digishakti portal has been developed through an organization selected by UPdesco, the nodal agency for the implementation of the scheme. He said that all action related to data, receipt, inspection, maintenance, distribution etc. of students, tablets/smartphones would be done through Digishakti portal. He said that till November 30, 2021, the data of 26, 67,725 students has been uploaded on Digishakti portal and this work is going on fast. In addition, the process of procuring tablets/smartphones through GeM portal is in progress and technical evaluation of the bids received is in progress.
In the meeting, senior administrative officers of all concerned departments including Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner Sanjeev Mittal and all District Magistrates etc. were present through video conferencing.
